Snow covers the jungle. It turns all the heavy trees white. A lone Arab in white clothes rides a white camel across the quiet ground. Only the camel’s soft steps break the silence. Soothing.

Suddenly, a white wolf steps slowly out of the bushes. Its eyes fix on them. A low growl fills the air. The wolf leaps forward, biting hard into the camel’s leg. Red blood spreads quickly across the white snow.

The camel rises onto its back legs, throwing the man into the cold snow.

“Golak!” the man shouts.

He does not check his own body. He thinks only of his camel, which is more precious to him than the world.

Golak fights back. Its teeth find the wolf. The wolf drops onto the snow, nearly dead. But Golak is bleeding too heavily. Golak falls heavily to the ground.

The Arab crawls to him. He cries, holding the heavy head of his dying camel in the empty wilderness.

Soon, the camel stops breathing. The wolf is already still. The man sits in the red snow, no longer moving. The cold takes him. The snow begins to fall again, peaceful and gentle. It covers the jungle in a quiet, white embrace.
