A few months ago, I built and launched Mooneva Cycle because I was tired of seeing every simple aspect of our daily lives get monetized, tracked, and uploaded to a cloud.
Most period trackers do exactly that. They require accounts, upload highly personal data to corporate servers, and share it with advertisers or expose it in breaches. I wanted to build something that respects its users.
My motivation was simple: data that never leaves your device cannot be leaked, sold, or subpoenaed.
There are no servers, no accounts, and no internet permissions. Mooneva Cycle encrypts all data directly on your device using PBKDF2/AES-GCM.
I wanted it to be highly capable but visually minimal. The features are all there, but they stay out of the way so only the minor percentage of users who actually care about those advanced options will need to look for them. Ultimately, it is a completely offline, private tracker that belongs entirely to you.
